Megapixel security cameras are available in same form as analog cameras. Some megapixel cameras are dome, cube or the most popular box style camera. What is nice about these cameras is they have a very high resolution. For example; the highest resolution analog camera is 600 tvl and an image size of 640x480. In contrast to that the ip megapixel camera has a resolution of at least 1024x780. That is more then double the resolution of a regular camera.

Megapixel cameras should be used where high detail level is required. Example if you want to capture someone's face or a car license plate. If you scroll down all the way to the bottom you can see a snapshot that I took from an acti acm-5611 camera.
